This must the cutest of cutest dribble cloths in the world! Initially designed as a toy for the under 18m babies, we noticed that they were as much functional as they were fun..

Made from super super soft 100% cotton yarn, which is amazingly absorbent despite its silky texture, these are the perfect combination of a toy, teether, teething aid and a “spoegdoek” - a dribble catcher!

One of the clearest and most challenging sings of a teething baby is the drool. And boy,

theres’s a lot of it.

As little teeth push through baby’s gums, their salivary glands go into overdrive and they have saliva that drips uncontrollably.

Enter this little bunny eared teether, which is about to become your best friend! The crochet yarn ties around a 6cm beechwood ring (one of the only two woods suitable for teething as it does not splinter, and is more durable and water resistant than most woods), which means when the yarn is thoroughly soaked with spit it can be washed in the sink quickly with washing powder and hung out flat to dry, and the pure cotton yarn ensures it dries far quicker than other materials.

Once dry, the wooden ring can be patted dry, the ears retied, and in seconds you have the cutest dribble cloth you’ve ever seen once again!

The ring is the perfect size for little hands to hang onto, and the 100% beechwood it is made of is a hard wood that baby can chomp down on, helping to (and as terrible as this may sound to an adult it’s proven to help babies’ pain) break those little teeth that are pushing through the gum free, providing instant pain relief.

In fact, beechwood has been proven not only to aid the teething process, but actually to accelerate it.

So you get an absolutely adorable toy (I know of some babies who flat out refuse to put theirs down - it becomes their safety blanket substitute), that acts as both a teether and a cloth..

If you’ve ever tried to separate baby from his filthy favourite blankie or toy on washing day, you’ll know the tantrums and pains of an inconsolable child…

That’s why many many parents get two of these so when one becomes too saturated to use, the other can be substituted in without any fuss from baby.

Most of my parents pair these with our “My First Lovey”, which is made of identical yarn, also has the beachwood ring that acts as a grip for baby, but is far bigger and more suitable for really heavy saliva absorption.

The joy of the Lovey it that also has a loop on one corner where you can anchor your pacifier with a pop stud, so you don’t spend hours searching for baby’s dummy - you clip it on before you leave home and know where it is at all times.

Whether you choose to get one, or two, or even three of the bunny eared teethers, or team one or two up with the My First Lovely, depends entirely on your child, how the teething process effects him, and your own preferences, but because they are all made from exactly the same, soft, silly and

soothing materials, and have the same wooden parts with the same texture, you can be assured that baby is not going to get upset over any substitutions, as the texture and familiarity of both products completely reduces tantrums when one or the other is removed to be washed - ultimately, baby still has the textures, softness and structure that he finds so reassuring, and much heartbreak is avoided!

Please allow for up to three weeks for each to be made, as they are completely handmade, although we always try to have them completed way before that time. ❤️

  • Simply give a quick rinse in warm water or wipe with a wet wipe, and allow to dry in a shaded area.

Do not submerge any wood for any period of time in water, as it will swell and ruin the finish.

If you prefer the treated look, beeswax or even olive oil will give the wood depth of colour and an incredible sheen.
